Here is a little peek into my craft room.
Slowly but surely my room has a bit of order to it.
Still lots of projects to be finished but here is one that made a big difference.
I tend to have a lot of paper lying around, and when I need just a piece to try a color or to see how a marker works out, there is nothing to be found, it then all looks something that I can use later or not sure if I can toss it or not.
So I needed a cabinet to store my paper. You probably have seen them in those fancy craft rooms.
Specially designed to hold scrapbook paper, and lots of them.
Not having one of those around, I made one myself.
I made one out of 6 Ikea wine racks and a piece of shelving.
And it holds a part of my never ending stash. Just in easy reach.
And on top I have a new project waiting already.
It´s also a great place to take pictures because of the hight and the light that comes from 2 sides.
I can close the curtain to make it more diffuse if I want to.
It was pretty simple and straight forward.
I searched the house and outdoor kitchen for the racks, we had a big selection of wine at one point, but it´s all gone as you can see :-)
I stacked them using the little wooden thingies that come with them.
2 rows of 3 racks and place a bit of a wood shelf on top with 6 screws.
4 in the corners, 2 in the middle.
Because it was a bit wobbly I used some tie wraps to secure them together and make it more sturdy.
Then I printed some letters and invoices from the Graphic Fairy and Modge Podged it on top.
That also hides the screws nicely.
And that´s all!
Filled it with paper and small projects. All the templates I cut and used.
Pieces that I now know I can write and color on. Invoices of all the stuff I ordered online.
Printing paper, colored paper. Laminating machine and plastics Etc.
It´s just as wide as the door, so it looks perfect when its open
I am pretty pleased with myself about this one!
In the future I will probably be painting it, white or pink, not sure yet…
But for now I leave it like it is, order in the chaos makes me happy!
What do you think? You have any suggestions how to improve it?
Love to hear what you think!
